Plant Care & Establishment Guide
Effective 8 October 2026. These general website policies are subject to the accepted project contract and non-excludable Australian consumer and NSW building law rights. They are not a substitute for a legally compliant residential building contract.
First weeks after installation
New plants may show temporary drooping or some leaf shedding while adapting. Check moisture at root depth and water appropriately for species, soil and weather. Avoid both waterlogging and allowing root balls to dry out.
Watering and drainage
Watering frequency depends on plant type, season, rainfall, exposure, soil and irrigation. Confirm that irrigation reaches root zones; check drainage and report persistent pooling or wilting.
Mulch, feeding and pruning
Keep mulch away from trunks and stems, follow species-specific fertiliser guidance and avoid heavy pruning during establishment unless advised. Watch for pests, disease and damage.
Client maintenance responsibilities
Unless maintenance is expressly included in the contract, clients are responsible for routine care after handover. Ask Garden Art for plant-specific care directions where needed.
Problems and statutory rights
Contact Garden Art with dated photographs if plants fail to establish or appear unhealthy. Environmental factors can affect growth, but these notes do not exclude remedies for unsuitable plant selection, defective plants, improper installation or other breaches of consumer guarantees.
